Tammy Tsai, Director
Tammy is a native Pennsylvanian who grew up in Pittsburgh and attended Point Park College with an acting degree. She subsequently toured the country performing in equity theatre. In the early eighties she began bodybuilding and won several prestigious competitions including the Miss Nevada Title and the Most Physically Fit Female in Pittsburgh competition of 1988.
In 1994 she relocated to Beaver County with her husband. While helping build her husband’s successful Chiropractic practice, she began practicing Yoga. Initially she practiced yoga as a supplement to her regular workout routine but soon learned that it was much more than that. What she found was a system, which teaches self-discipline, develops inner strength and opens the heart toward spiritual enlightenment. Ashtanga Yoga then became her sole interest because of the amazing benefits it provides on so many levels. She has completed teacher trainings with Tim Miller and David Swenson, attends an annual week long second series intensive at Mt Shasta with Tim and participates in numerous workshops with both master and senior ashtanga teachers throughout the US including Manju Jois, Annie Pace, David Williams as well as teachers of other styles. Tammy has been most fortunate to be able to study with Sri K Pattabhi Jois on three separate occasions during his visits to the US. She considers Tim Miller of The Ashtanga Yoga Center in Encinitas, CA the teacher who has inspired her practice the most and continues her studies with him during her frequent visits to California.
